    December Updates

Our Zion Building Committee holds regular, monthly progress meetings with the architect to keep Phase One of the new School Building Project moving along, including:

  • Architectural site plans were completed by Groth Design Group and reviewed by the Building Committee.

  • On Dec. 9, Architect Todd Dvorak submitted our site plan to the City of Columbus City Planning Commission for Zoning and Conditional Use review. We are on the Jan. 9 City’s Planning Commission Agenda for site plan approval.

  • Civil Design by JB Site Design was completed and reviewed by the Building Committee. This includes plans for an additional retention pond on the southwest corner of the property and a south parking lot located along Western Avenue.

  • The Structural Design Phase by Core4 Engineering will be completed in January for state permit plan submittal.

  • Zion’s Interior Design Subcommittee selected interior finishes and door hardware with Groth Design Group.

  • The Preliminary schedule is to begin construction in April 2025 with a 9-12 month construction timeline.

Top Tier Gifts Needed!

We need both a broad base of support and a few fairly substantial gifts in order to ensure our “Building TOMORROW Together.” Not everyone can make one of these top-tier gifts equal to 1, 5, 10, 15, and 20 percent or more of our goal.

But if you can, please do what others can’t and watch how it inspires similarly generous gifts and will all but assure our campaign’s success!
